I purchased one mainly for working on the fly. I did upgrade the RAM and OS, added MS Office 2007 with OneNote and am very happy with the results. Touch sensitivity is great. Keyboard is nice size and responsive. The key pad takes a little getting used to as I am always tempted to use two fingers which results in jumps, but I’ve gotten past that and it is responsive. Video and voice recording are definitely sufficient for my purposes, though audio playback (as noted elsewhere) isn’t very good through the speakers. The only input issue is the rim around the screen which can make it tough to close application windows with a touch.br /br /As a lot of people noted with their models, the accelorometer for screen orientation doesn’t work on mine. There is a button which flips things, and I actually prefer that to automatic, so it isn’t a problem for me. The on/off lock is nice. layout of ports is generally reallly nice, though the two USBs are pretty close together which can frustrate if you have fat usb drives (I can fit 2 standard usb chords, but not thumb drives).br /br /The Windows 7 starter is the reason I give this 4 not 5. The included proprietory stuff works fine with touch, but it didn’t do everything I wanted. I loaded home premium, Office 2007, and most especially One Note. This is a great machine for one note. Home premium continues to impress me for handwriting recognition. As a book reader, it works great except in direct sunlight – Tried to read while walking to the car on a sunny day, and it was impossible. Cloudy conditions were OK, though. Hard drive speeds are sufficient but not fantastic.
