Onkyo HT-S3300 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package (Black) Overviews
If you’re looking for a future-ready receiver-and-speaker package that won’t break the bank, your search may be over. Meet Onkyo’s 5.1-channel HT-S3300—a system packed with so much advanced technology that it redefines entry-level home theater. As with every A/V receiver in Onkyo’s 2010 line-up, you get the latest iteration of HDMI—version 1.4. Three HDMI inputs let you hook up, say, your Blu-ray player, game console, and cable/satellite box—all of which can be output via a single cable to your connected high-res display. Not only is HDMI 1.4 compatible with next-generation 3D video, it also enables a convenient Audio Return Channel. On top of this, the HT-S3300 supports lossless HD audio formats from Dolby and DTS—previously the domain of mid-range to high-end receivers only. But that’s not all. The HT-S3300 also provides an overlaid On-Screen Display function for easy adjustment of settings; a Universal Port for one-cable connection of peripherals; Audyssey equalization; four gaming audio modes; and a fully immersive, beautifully balanced 5.1-channel speaker set.

Onkyo HT-S3300 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package (Black) CustomerReview
Got this system after waiting for a month, I was oscillating between Onkyo HT-S3300 and Onkyo HT-S5300 but now I feel I took the right decision of sticking to my order (Onkyo HT-S3300). Out of the box this system sounds awesome br /I use this more for Music than Movies; I will update my review with the HDMI repeater performance later br /br /br /Who should buy this?br /1. who need an affordable Entry level Home theater in a box system with very good sound quality br /2. where listening room is not too big ( max 20 * 20)br /3. Who are not looking to upgrade the system in futurebr /4. who have little more space in their entertainment center ( the system is little bulky)br /5. who are okay with a passive sub woofer br /6. who already have a DVD or Blue ray player or buy a new one ( this is a home theater receiver with 5.1 Speakers , doesn’t come with the player )br /br /Below is the feature you won’t get br /Up-converting RCA input to HDMI input br /If you have a Wii and Blue ray Player, you have to connect the Blue ray using HDMI cable to this receiver, and then connect Wii using the RCA cable, br /From the receiver you have to run two cables to the TV, one HDMI for the blue ray Player and one RCA for Wii, but remember you get this up-conversion feature only in expensive receivers br /br /br /Below are the features I like br /br /1. Sound quality ( Clarity and Detail) is excellent , at very low volumes and at very high volume br /2. This is were things are very interesting — this can up-convert 2.1 Music to 5.1 Music, this means I can play my old downloaded mp3 songs ( recording is not very good ) still I get Dolby or DTS output with the given sound modes.br /This is not just channeling the sound through all the 5 speakers, but splitting the appropriate audio channel from stereo input to the appropriate speakersbr /3. If the content is recorded in Dolby and DTS the Audio output is excellent br /4. For games you have extra sound modes – Even Wii sounds excellent br /br /Below are things Onkyo can fix br /User manual is horrible – you get confused by reading this, I found my way by trail and error.br /br /Overall this the best 5.1 system at this price range, I read Yamaha is also having a HDMI 1.4 repeater at this price but I don’t know about the performance br /br /If you are confused between 3300 and 5300, take the call based on the who should buy this system br /br /You can use SANUS VUePoint Speaker stands for mounting the Surround speakers br /Available in Wal-Mart for br /br /br /br /
