Eric Edelhausen “Apex” Men’s Dress Chronograph with Day and Date Overviews

Whether it’s a boardroom meeting or you’re on board the boat, you’ll be looking sharp wearing the Apex day-date chronograph. The cobalt blue dial with the subdials ringed in silver tone is what first catches the eye. The all stainless steel case is 41.75 mm (1.65 inches) wide and has a stainless steel screw down case back. For enhanced water resistance, the crown and the chronograph pushers also screw down. At the heart of the watch is the ISA 8172/220 gilded, 3 jewel chronograph movement with split time function. To preserve the life of the battery, the movement features an automatic chronograph shut off and reset after 2 hours of running. You shouldn’t get caught with a watch battery that has gone dead again. The movement also has a battery end of life feature that indicates when the battery is approaching the end of its useful life. Finishing the look is the 21 mm wide solid stainless steel bracelet with brushed outer links and mirror polished inner links. The bracelet closes with a push button folding buckle with a safety clasp and will accommodate wrists up to 8.5 inches. The beautiful wood presentation box within a gift box makes for a wonderful gift or a fine addition to any desk or dresser. This is the sort of watch that will be noticed!br /Some will love it, some will hate it and that is seen in these reviews.br /Mixed reviews and for a good reason:br /br /This is a beautiful watch, design is awesome, weight is somewhat light but it doesn’t feel plastic and that’s because it’s stainless steel. Not heavy, like some reviewers mention but it i think that makes this watch very confortable exactly because of that.br /br /At this price, i thought it was a good purchase, and i’m very happy with it.br /Keeps good time, mine doesn’t loose that many minutes as some said but this is not the kind of watch you look for accuracy, it’s a fun watch to wear and in that case, it’s very cool.br /It’s flashy, too much perhaps. I agree that this watch seems very ambitious since everyone will notice that golden “thing” in your wrist and it certainly seems like a expensive watch.br /br /It has indeed a chinese movement so this is not that great jewerly many were saying it should be but it’s not expensive and as such i think people are beeing a bit harsh when saying this is not a high quality piece. You get what you payed for: a fun, cheap enough watch that looks awesome. Design is above all other qualities with this watch but that’s ok for the price and i can’t find anything like it anywhere! That’s great! It is unique and impressive!br /You will not find another watch in this price range that looks like this. Compact and nice to look at, perfect for parties! br /br /Like our friend from Moscow says, be carefull when using the watch in dangerous places because it will atract attentions and seems very expensive. This a great watch especially for those with smaller to medium wrists. This timepiece is classy, beautifully retro styled and fun to wear daily. Ideal for semi-formal occasions. There is a variant of this model with a paler face and gold hands that could be even more visually appealing but the dial contrast is somewhat weak compared to this one with dark hands and cream background. The only possible design flaw on this watch is the date (day of the month, 1-31) sub-dial (at 3 o’clock) on which the font size is too small to be easily readable. Nice presentation/packaging (wooden box), hypoallergenic leather band, and excellent service from the Watch Emporium.

So far have nice collection. This purchase wasn’t an exception. Appearance matches quality – quality matches appearance. Beautiful peace of work !!! Box is real wood. It is not only glowing as expensive – it is expensive real wood box. It looks like 00.00 watch. If case would be 2-3 mm thinner, this watch would go for 7-12K. Must have !!!

Before giving my impression about the watch I want to emphasize the excellence that Watch Emporium provides through their customer service dept. They have by far, best user friendly and most helpful customer service that I have came across. Big problem (and it was my fault) solved painlessly and so quickly that I was left speechless. Even I work overseas!!!br /br /About the watch. After getting this watch two days ahead of schedule, I was nothing less then amazed with the packaging, box and the watch itself. Only thing I don’t like about this watch (or better – what I didn’t expected from 45mm watch) is weight. It is a bit too light. I used to carry much heavier watch (Sector) and it took me a while to get used to it. Everything else is great, people keep asking about it, and I wear it all the time. It goes well with business suits, as well as with casual outfit. Just what I needed. Have to admit, more I wear it, more I like it!

This is a super classy timepiece that others will notice (whether you want it or not). It is fit for very formal occasions but also for not so formal daily routines. You could spend a few thousands to achieve the same effect this piece offers for much less money. So far the piece has been accurate and exhibited no problems. The watch case size (40 mm) is ideal for smaller to medium size wrists. If I can change one thing, it would be switching places between the second hand from the small sub-dial (at 2 o’clock) and the chrono hand (at the center). Otherwise, everything is really classy, from the packaging (wooden box), a good dial contrast and readability, to its hypoallergenic leather band. And again, the Watch Emporium provided a great service and delivered the watch before the estimated date of delivery.
