The filters are individually packaged, covered in a nice reflective chrome foil wrapping that when opened reveals the cobalt blue Pur water filter. You must remember to remove the old filter before installing the new filter. The old filter unscrews in counter-clockwise orientation and the new filter screws into the pitcher’s orifice in a clockwise orientation, reminding me of the adage: lefty… loosey, righty…tighty. It is easier to do this procedure while the pitcher is void of water.
