The color was noted as vibrant brushed bronze but it is really a slightly brassy/yellow version of a brushed nickel. Very attractive but it does not match the rest of my bronze decor which is at the slightly copper end of traditional bronze. After having bad luck with the finish coming off in the first year on my Danze shower/bathtub faucet and handles and after having bad luck with the cheap mechanical quality of the original bathroom vanity faucet that came with the vanity, I was determined to buy a quality faucet. The faucet that came with my vanity required the handle to be tightened every few months due to a flimsy set screw arrangement and the hot water side started leaking in a little over a year. I tried cleaning the cartridge mechanism which stopped the leak for a matter of days. After reading many reviews on many websites I found many reviews on the cheaper brands having bronze finish failures similar to what I experienced with the Danze shower hardware and similar “loose” handle issues to what I experienced with the original vanity faucet. I have installed several American Standard kitchen and bathroom faucets in several homes and had great experiences but their only bronze offerings were blackened bronze (very dark) and they were very expensive. I have never used Kohler before but their reputation is high quality. Based on my search of Kohler bathroom wide spread faucets, this was the best price for a nice style in bronze. The pictures looked a little lighter than my bronze decor but I thought it would be close enough. When I first opened the box I thought they had sent me the brushed nickel by mistake. Then I realized it had a slight brassy/yellow tint. It is very attractive but I don’t know how Kohler could call it bronze and it is lighter than the picture looks. Must have been the lighting when Kohler took their picture or there are variations in the color because mine looks lighter when held up to their picture. After seeing that the seller (I Need Stuff through Amazon’s website) had a very significant restocking fee and after my wife and I agreed it looked sharp despite not matching, I went ahead and installed it. We decided we would paint it bronze to match the rest some day if the light color bothers us. Other than one inconsistency in the instructions regarding the order that a rubber o-ring and a plastic o-ring are to be installed, and a pair of brass nuts that were provided but are not needed (they don’t appear anywhere in the instructions or the parts diagram), it was well designed and much easier to install than the junk that came with our vanity. The drain fit well too which had been a pain to get sealed with the original vanity hardware. The handle movement is smooth and solid feeling. Only time will tell how it holds up but as of this first few days since installation, we are happy. Some day I may attempt to spray paint it bronze:)

I have installed three of these. You will probably find getting the old faucet out is harder than putting this one in. You might want to borrow or buy a basin wrench for the removal, but you don’t need one to install these. The look is very clean, and they do not seem to have spaces where crud will collect and be hard to remove. We have had one other Kohler faucet for several years which still operates well. Tip – follow the instructions about removing the aerator before running water the first time – you’ll just have to clean it out anyway.
