We recently had installed new 3cm Granite counter tops and wanted only a single penetrating hole to maximize the gorgeous view of the new countertops. We looked at all of the other major brand, single handle, integrated sprayer kitchen faucets on the market, but couldn’t find Any that we liked. All were either too bulky, too shiny, large handled, tulip shaped bases with awkward pull out sprayers that didn’t feel right or seem to work very well. br /br /Then we discovered the Kohler K-596-VS, an ergonomic all-in-one faucet of beauty that takes Absolutely Nothing away from our stunning granite real-estate from Brazil, but adds a simplistic yet elegant compliment to our remodeled kitchen. The 10 minute installation plus the solid quality and function of its design only enhances the great choice we made. The spray\stream\stop features and ease of the swivel head work flawlessly, as does the diminutive but accurate function of the valve assembly. When I read the reviews of this faucet here on Amazon, I was initially turned off from buying this product because of the negative comments about retricted water flow. I sent a message to Kohler customer service telling them of this reported shortcoming and asked if a fix and ever been engineered to fix it. I got back a response that this faucet’s flow rate is 2.2 gallons per minute (I forget at what PSI). Upon further research, I learned that other company’s products had this same rate of flow. With these new facts, I went ahead with the purchase and install of a Kohler K-10433-VS because I like its form and the clearance it provides. Before uninstalling the original faucet, I tested how long it took to fill a 1/2 gallon bottle – twenty (20) seconds. After installing this new Kohler faucet, I re-tested an obtained a fifteen (15) second result – a savings of five (5) seconds.br /br /The reason I did not give this product a full five (5) stars is that the sprayhead should have less plastic and more metal content to give it more heft.
