I installed my filter about a month ago. I happened to have an externally stripped faucet. This made for a VERY easy installation. Following the directions, I ran fresh cold water through the filter for about 10 minutes. When I began flushing my new filter I was so eager that I didn’t even check the temperature of the water. I admonish those interested to be sure that the water is not warmer than room temperature when flushing the filter before first time use. I think this is especially important for first time filter buyers (like me), who usually only use faucet water to clean things (like me) and therefore usually only use very warm to hot water. As for the taste, YES it is crisp clean purified H2O. The automatic valve is a plus – no need to turn off the filter; it shuts off when the water shuts off. 1 month in and no signs of leakage. My overall experience has been great thus far.
