Bought this to photograph some baskets for a catalog. Didn’t really need the 36 inch, but the price difference over a 24 wasn’t very much. A 36″ cube is BIG. Frankly, a 2 foot version would have sufficed for that project and any other I can think of. In any case the product is very light and actually quite portable. It weighs almost nothing and twists up like those sun reflectors for your car. Do read the instructions before attempting to re-twist the frame to pack it away. If you over bend the spring wire frame I think you’re done for.br /br /My only minor complaint is that I had to iron the back drops, although perhaps if you left them out and let them hang for a few hours maybe you could avoid the hassle.

The product works good, when you get the right one. They shipped me the wrong head piece, so the plug did not fit in any outlet in my home. (It was a 2 prong polar plug.) I had purchased it with enough time to have it for a sitting a few days after it arrived. It was difficult to contact them and when they shipped out the new piece they shipped USPS, so I didn’t have a working light for work. The new piece arrived 3 days after my sitting. br /br /It is difficult to transport as it does not come with a bag. Also the piece is very light weight, a small breeze from a fan almost knocked mine over several times (although I am sure the umbrella didn’t help negate air flow). I would recommend attaching weights to it if you plan to use it around small children or if you have the need for a fan in the room. br /br /Over all I feel it was a good buy, I do need to find a stronger light for this however, as the light it comes with does not do much.

Comes VERY well packaged, easy to set up. Bulbs are free and you get what you pay for… be very careful screwing them in, the bulb base is not very well attached. No biggee though, a four pack at Home Depot is $[...]. (look for 5500k rated bulbs). br /br /Good customer service, there was a mix up in shipping methods and after I received a preship e-mail I was able to call and have the method changed.br /br /2-16″ reflectors and the equivalent of just over 300w of light/unit. The diffuser is quite easy to install if you lay the head face up 
br /br /Update… I’ve had this Kit for almost six months now, I’ve upgraded the bulb wattage and built softboxes with rip stop nylon diffusers. We got this product to take close up photography of items for online auction. It is fairly well built and comes with a black or white backdrop and a carrying/storage case. There are no directions as the previous reviewer said, and it does reduce shadows as long as you have adequate lighting and/or have a flash that can be repositioned so as not to create reflections or shadows. The only drawback is that it built in such a way that you’ll need to build a stand or put a stand inside to mount items for taking photos; the nylon is very slick and does not rest flat so it is difficult to keep them in position unless you mount or position items on a different surface in the tent. The low price for a starter photography tent makes up for a lot!
