I’m just an average camera buff. My needs are simple, but they are needs regardless. With that, I needed a camera with more pixels. My previous camera was an Olympus C-700U which I purchased over 9 years ago. At the time it was a great camera with a 10x optical zoom, which was pretty good. It also had 2.1 pixels which seemed pretty good also. It was a great camera for MY needs. Speaking of needs, let me say that they are few. I needed a camera that had a good optical zoom and a good amount of pixels. It should be easy to use and small enough to carry on a tank bag strapped to my Ducati. The C-700U worked well and was small enough. The other day I decided to check out the latest in digital cameras. I don’t have the patience for long drawn out reviews, telling me that this camera has a genuine hard plastic lens cover that if set just right covers the lens! I needed a review that said this camera was good because the pixels were there and the zoom was great! I’m an average camera buff who takes pictures that never show up in a magazine! So, getting to this camera. It is small, easy to use, and has a great zoom lens. It has over 10 megapixel, I can look at the display or through the lens, I can dump a picture without a lot of hassle and battery life is pretty good also. I should mention that I am 64, retired twice and married(or was it married twice and retired). The Nikon P100 is a great camera for my needs. I was on a walk this AM and took several pics of flowers. The macro is pretty good, as I just looked at the pics and I was very pleased. I took some pics of the horses as my wife fed them, and was very impressed with the quality and clarity of the pics. Now these may not be the words to use, but I’m sure someone may understand what I’m saying. If you get paid to take pictures, your not reading this anyway. Try the camera at a store and see for yourself, but I am very pleased and would recommend this to anyone, even a family member.
